Real Estate Photography in the Inner West: A Local's Notes

The Inner West is one of Sydney's most photogenic patches to shoot, and one of the trickiest. In a single street you might find a restored Victorian terrace, a warehouse conversion, a Federation semi and a brand-new townhouse, each needing a different approach. We shoot Inner West listings every week, and here is what we have learned about making them sell.

Character is the selling point, so shoot it

Buyers come to the Inner West for character: ornate ceilings, tessellated tiles, fireplaces, leadlight windows, exposed brick. These are exactly the details a rushed phone photo flattens. We light and frame them deliberately, because they are often the reason a buyer picks one terrace over the near-identical one next door.

    Small spaces, shot honestly

Inner West homes are frequently narrow and clever rather than large. The job is to show the flow and the light without distorting the proportions. A good photographer makes a compact terrace feel calm and liveable, not cramped or warped by an over-wide lens. Honest framing builds trust, and trust brings the right buyers to the inspection.

Light moves fast between the terraces

Tightly packed streets mean light changes quickly through the day. East-facing fronts shine in the morning, rear living spaces often come alive in the afternoon. We time the shoot to each property rather than turning up at a convenient hour, which is half the reason our Inner West photos look the way they do.

Fast turnaround for a fast market

The Inner West moves quickly. Listings launch midweek and inspect that weekend, so slow delivery costs you. We deliver edited listing photos by 9am the next business day, so your campaign is never waiting on the camera. A clear floorplan, essential for quirky split-level and converted layouts, is included with every shoot.

If you are listing in Balmain, Newtown, Marrickville, Annandale or anywhere across the Inner West, we know the stock and we know the market. See how a full shoot comes together on our services page, or tell us about the property and we will get your listing looking its best.
