What we shoot across the Lower North Shore

The Lower North Shore runs from harbourfront prestige to bushland-edge family streets in the space of a few kilometres. Mosman and Cremorne carry substantial homes and boutique apartments where a genuine water view is the whole campaign; Neutral Bay and North Sydney mix walk-up unit blocks with newer apartments for a fast-moving professional market; and Lane Cove, Hunters Hill and Gladesville trade on full blocks, established gardens and streets backing onto reserves.

Presentation expectations here are high and specific. A harbour view has to be held properly in the glass, an established garden is often as important as the kitchen, and prestige interiors need to read refined rather than staged.

Light and timing on the North Shore

Most of the harbour-view stock looks south or south-east toward the city, which makes late light and twilight the premium frames: the view fills with the skyline as the interior lights come up. The established tree canopy is the other local factor, throwing dappled light across facades, so exteriors are timed for when the sun clears the trees rather than when the diary is free.

Gardens photograph best in the softer morning and late-afternoon windows, and on the bushland-edge streets the green backdrop is worth composing for deliberately.

Bridges, driveways and Saturday auctions

The practical realities here are steep driveways, battle-axe blocks and bridge traffic. We time runs across the harbour outside the peak crush, plan for the walk when the parking is a street away from the door, and book lifts and building access in the apartment stock around Neutral Bay and North Sydney in advance. Saturday shoots are planned around auction schedules, which run dense in this market.
